I had a dream months ago, last year, that there was a ghost in my house. I thought it must be my stepdad checking in on me but the ghost was causing too much mischief. I threw a white sheet on the ghost to try to capture it. When I finally caught it and held it down, I realized it was a dog. Instantly I started to cry, it was a dog that just wanted to play. It had passed yet it still had that playful, happy spirit.
Months later my dog passed away. We knew he would but I was in denial. Surely he’s getting better, it’s Smoky. He’ll be fine. He passed away the day after The Day of the Dead for pets. Perhaps his cat sibling Jimmy came to pick him up, he hates being alone.
This was a very difficult and surreal time for me.
Since then I have changed so much. Time moves so fast. Shit gets real.
in 5 years
Ya’ll sometimes we have to stop and think, where do I want to be in 5 years? And am I walking in the right direction towards that goal? Have I taken too many detours? Have I let other variables change the trajectory of this path? Am I following someone else? Do you need to carry this on your path? Will that matter at your next checkpoint? ( It probably won’t. )
And then we have to recalibrate.
And it doesn’t have to be towards anything so detailed. It can be towards happiness, health, one’s own definition of success.
Smoky’s passing definitely shook my world but has slowly been helping me recalibrate and think of what really matters. And somehow it’s helped my healing journey.
Currently I do feel like I am on the right path and living authentically to myself and what I believe in. Love you Smoky.

Crochet news
Guys I did not finish the crochet man I was working on cause it’s pretty difficult and I ran out of yarn and had to start over. The thing about yarn is that even if it’s the same color, if it’s from a different batch its NOT gonna be the same color half the time. LOL
But next week y’all will see why I was frozen with the crochet hook in my hand starring at the wall like the lady with all the math around her meme.
But here is a little hair bandana I made for my sister. I added charms because I can. I didn’t use a pattern or any real measurements because by the time I think of that, my hands are already 1/4 of the way done. She had to block it to get a perfect fit.

Thank you for your time. Hope y’all have a great week.
