Besides the usual crochet wrestlers, I really want to crochet more garments to wear this summer. I don’t know why but I feel guilty when I crochet for fun these days. I guess it’s because I feel like I should prioritize work. Balance is probably best though. Specially to avoid some type of burn out. My goal is to crochet 3 tops. I hope I can do it and I’m excited to share if I do. Yarn is fun.
Big van vader
What a fun challenge, this masked man. This project took a few tries to finish. Like I have said before, I don’t use patterns and most of the time I don’t plan things out either. I visualize a 3D model in my head, the various pieces needed, and go. It works out 70% of the time.
The mask consists of 6 separate pieces put together. Horns are felt wrapped foam and smaller horns are the same thing, not wrapped. Underneath that mask there is the other mask worn by Vader. Underneath that mask there is nothing because the taking on and off the masks would definitely ruin any details added to the face.
The first picture shows where I had marked the middle and the parts of the mask that would become those side plates attached to the head. Fun.
The next one I’m working on right now is something I’ve been wanting to do forever. Can’t wait to share!
Mental health AWARENESS month
is coming to an end and I just wanted to talk about a few things.
- It is really bad to not address any mental health issues you might be experiencing. If you ignore a leak, 2 or 3 drops will do nothing but overtime there will be damage. Talk to your friends and family if you feel a change in yourself. Communication is so important and it’s absolutely necessary. We are social animals designed to live in small groups where everyone leans on everyone. We are designed to learn from each other, from our elders. (No te apartes wey)
- It is okay to talk about how you feel. Mental health is still health. If your stomach hurts for a week straight you’re probably gonna tell someone and it should be the same with any changes in mental health. Any shame you feel when expressing any issues only points to the fact that you do indeed need therapy. (No te aguantes wey)
- Life can become easier. In the depths of my illness it was hard to see any possible change but there is help out there. You do not have to suffer. It will take effort but everything does. (Hechale ganas cabron)
- Change is good. (Ponte las pilas)
- You deserve this, you are more. (Sin miedo al exito)
That’s it for now. Hope y’all have a fantastic week.
